Guest Igniter: Bob Etherington
Bob Etherington has been developing his reputation for sales success since the 1970’s in a career that has spanned many key global markets. He is one of Europe’s top trainers in sales, success and leadership. After a few years in UK sales at Xerox in the 1970’s he spent time as a currency trader in the London Money Markets.
In 1979 he was head-hunted by Reuters to help sell their range of electronic financial information products.He quickly rose through the company becoming a main Board Director of Reuters Transaction Systems Ltd and transferred to NewYork in 1994 to run their North American Sales organisation.
He left Reuters in 2001 to set up his own training companies and now works worldwide helping companies and individuals achieve their full business potential. His company has, since 2011, run the international Leadership programme for one of the World’s top energy companies which has – they tell him- already saved them over $21 million. He has written 4 books including two best sellers (“Cold Calling for Chickens” and “Presentation Skills for Quivering Wrecks”) and was recently appointed a “Freeman of the City of London” in recognition of his work with City institutions. He is now also special adviser to Westminster Business Council in London.
Outside business he is a qualified pilot, a part time actor in film and theatre and keen supporter of many UK charities.
